Prompt: Who is your favorite character and why? Who is your least favorite character?
Pages Read: 40-80
In this story, "The Elite" I have grown to know the characters well since I read the first book of the trilogy. Most of the characters are the same, but some of them have changed just a bit. At first, I had no favorite characters, I just liked them, but none of them really made an impact on me, until later on. In stories, my most liked characters, aren't usually the main character, I usually favor the deuteragonist. The deueragonist is the second most important character, in which may switch from being with or against the protagonist depending on their conflict/plot. In this case the deuteragonist is with the protagonist.
Now, on to my favorite character. Just like I explained in my first paragraph, my preferred choice would be a deuteragonist. In this book though, it would be Prince Maxon. This person is just really polite, dorky, romantic, charming, and likeable, who wouldn't like him? He always supports the main character, America, and pratically treats her with care. For example, when America wanted to know what Halloween was, he took her to a top secret place where only few people knew of, and researched it. They later found out it was a holiday, that wasn't celebrated anymore. But America seemed to show interest in it, therefore Prince Maxon arranged a Halloween party that would allow people left from the selection to have their families over and celebrate. He did this all for America, and I just couldn't help but smile!
My least favorite character, no surprise here, would be the antagonist. In this story it would be Celeste, one of the elite members that is still in the competition. I've never favored her in the first book, and my thoughts haven't changed. Celeste has always sabotaged America in the rudest ways, such as for example, ripping part of her dress off. Not to mention, she ruined another girl's birthday, by making her cry. In fact, it still wonders me, why she's still in the competition in the first place.
*I pictured Prince Eric as Prince Maxon, and Ariel as America Singer*
p.s it so happened to be that they both had red hair ^-^
Prince Maxon sounds like a really nice person. After reading your first paragraph on how you usually favor the deuteragonist, I looked at your Dylan and Tyler gif and then that made me think of Teen Wolf. Does that mean that your favorite character is Stiles? (I'm referring to the first season because those are the only ones I've watched so correct me if the deuteragonist has changed.) Really cool blog and I really like the background!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog this week! I liked how you talked about both your favorite and least favorite character in the book. Celeste sounds like a horrible person. I wouldn't want to be around her for a minute. Prince Maxon sounds nothing like I was thinking of him. I pictured him to be all snobby, but it turned out to be a really nice dude.
