Reflective Writing: 10/6/14

Prompt: Reflect on your writing currently to your blog writing from this time last year. What are you noticing? What has progressed? What can you learn from your writing?

Looking at my old blogposts compared to my most recent I've noticed that I have progressed, and have been doing things differently than before. From looking at the ones I've wrote when we first started on blog, I can tell that I used a lot of repition when it came to my word choice. Not only that but to be honest, I never actually proofread anything, until now. Which is probably one of the reasons why my writing has looked much better. Using the same words was definitely one of my main issues, from what I can conclude. Besides that I don't really think anything else was really changed or a difficulty when it came to my writing. For an example of my underdeveloped writing skills from one of my primordial posts, it explains one of my favorite books of all time. In this post, consisting of my favorite books I repeat the word 'favorite' eight times in only one paragraph. Which is a lot, compared to now.

Now I have learned more word choice, and have been able to use it often. In my recent posts, when I read it again I can now fully understand what I'm talking about. Before, my writing wasn't exactly good work. Over time I have progressed with more things other than word choice such as using compare and contrast, connections, and describing the characters more thoroughly. However, I still do have some minor mistakes but I'm not worried because I know that I'll learn from them and my writing will only become better.
