Prompt: Describe the setting’s time and place. Draw it
In Divergent the setting takes place in Chicago. According to the story, Chicago is not the same but instead damaged and somewhat dark. Now, the buildings are all barely satandign with cracked windows and such. In fatc, the back of the city is protected by a giant fence which protects the people inside from danger. It also mentioned that during the war Chicago was one of the many places that were left standing.
The time it takes place is in the future. In divergent, the war changed the U.S and their ways. Especially, Chicago. The government made factions in which certain people did certain things for the rest of their life. There wasn't many choices, but they had to dealt with it. If you didn't like it then you remained factionless. Towards the end of the story, Tris, Tobias (Four) and many others find themselves leaving Chicago. This makes me wonder where they're going to go next, especially if some places are still not recovered.

ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book yet, but I've seen the movie. In your first paragraph you explain what the setting is so well. I love your picture! I just found the factions as a crazy idea! I just found it as like a downside if you didn't fit anywhere you would be factionless. I look forward to reading this book and the other two books! Amazing job!
