Prompt: Now take a moment to reflect upon your impressions of what you have learned from the array of articles in at least two well written paragraphs, using evidence from your graphic organizer.
In the gallery walk we did on Friday, I learned a variety of things in the different articles people talked about. Some had the same topic, while others ranged. For example, Citlalli and Jenna had the same article topic, which was about the new ISIS situation with Japan. In Citlalli's article, I learned that ISIS had captured two Japanese hostages, and had demanded $200 million for their release. Which resulted in Japan turning to Jordan for help. It was the same thing Jenna's article had said, except that later on they decided that instead of the money, ISIS now wanted a prisoner that was held in Japan.
Most people had articles that focused around that topic, but there were also some different articles that not many people had. For example, Autumn had this one topic about Global warming and how it's leading to coral bleaching in the oceans. Apparently, the bleaching causes coral to die which is a huge problem since the world's biodiversity would decrease greatly if coral reefs disappeared. The food web/fish industry would also be at risk, and there would be nothing to protect from wave and slum damage, since that's what the coral would do. I thought that this was a very interesting, and I actually didn't know anything about coral bleaching and it's effects until now. I can see why this might be important for the world to hear, since it would effect us significantly. Overall, I really liked hearing everyone talk about these different things happening around the world and their importance of it. To me, it was a great learning experience and I wouldn't mind doing it again.
