Prompt: Describe a character that you would like to meet (which doesn't mean that you think you would like the character, but that you think the character would be interesting.

In this book, there are really like two main characters named Hazel and Augustus. I like both of them, and especially Hazel. Hazel is a really great person and she doesn't want people to have pity for her. To me she's a real person. Although, she has a bad sickness and believes she's going to die soon she's okay with that. Basically, she's not just going to mope around, and be depressed although her parents might think so. In fact, she pretty much had a boring life for a sixteen year old, but what can you expect? But luckily that all changes when a certain Augustus Waters enters the picture.
Now although I really like Hazel as a character, I like Augustus as well. In fact, I may like him a little more, but honestly I think he would be the most interesting. He's the type of guy who doesn't judge a book by it's cover, really fun to be around, nice, romantic, funny, smart, and so much more. Augustus makes people feel better about themselves, which is a great quality. It's no surprise that Hazel likes him. Sure, he might be a little cliche at times but that's what makes him likable. He is a great guy from what I have read, and I would really like to meet him if he was real.
However, if I got the choice I would like to meet Hazel and Augustus. To me it just wouldn't be the same if I just met one of them. When they're together it would feel as though it's really them. I don't know if that makes sense, but what I'm trying to say is that when they're around each other they're themselves. Which is why I truly would want to meet both of them instead of one.

Leanna,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog this week, I really enjoyed it! I've seen so many people carrying this book around and reading it, and it seems really interesting. I think the way you described the two characters was really great, and you used great diction! I also like the picture you used. When I saw the trailer for the movie of this book, I feel like the characters looked like the ones on the picture you added, and the picture seems really sweet. I also loved how you said you would much rather meet both characters together, instead of just one, because they wouldn't be the same. I think because you said that, it shows even more of your knowledge of the book, and shows that you're truly thinking deeper into the situation. So, overall great blog, and I really look forward to reading more of your blogs in the future!
