Prompt:What is the mood of what you’re reading (happy, sad, funny, serious, etc.)?

Well to be honest I think there are many moods from what I'm reading. I mean this book is based on Nikki's diary, and from what I know diaries are filled with many emotions. But I don't think this story is sad, or filled with anger. Of coarse this book does contain some anger, and sadness but I don't think that's the whole concept. One of the moods of what I'm reading is happiness. In this diary, Nikki does have many happy cheerful moments that she shares. For one, Brandon aka Nikki's crush asked her to dance with him during a slow song! I'm not going to lie, I was really excited, and happy when that happened. I don't know why, but I guess since Nikki is my favorite character I support her, and such. In fact, I'm really glad that this book does have a lot of happiness in it, I don't really like reading sad, angry stories.

Funny is also one of the moods contained in this book. Since this is a diary, it's filled with thoughts, secrets, events, and more. But almost everything in this diary is funny. Especially, Nikki's thoughts. Nikki to me is a shy, dorky, funny girl, and since she is shy she doesn't exactly say everything out loud. Which is why she puts it in her diary. She talks about MacKenzie and how she is a selfish, crush stealer, popular, wannabe brat. Things she would not tell her face to face. Nikki does write about Brandon as well, but not in the way she wrote about MacKenzie. Nikki writes about how Brandon is dreamy, cute. nice, and special. It's quite funny actually. But I think one of the things that make me really laugh are her thoughts on what would happen if certain things were to happen.

These are the reasons why this is one of my favorite books because it's happy, funny, and many other things. In fact, it's really funny what Nikki writes. She seems like a really cool person. However, I haven't read the other books which I'm really mad about. I've been wanting to catch up and read the others but every time I go to the library it's not there! I feel as though I'm missing out on Nikki's adventure. Dork Diaries has always been one of my favorite stories to read. I mean it contains all my favorite qualities in stories. These moods, happy and funny are really great, They make the reader laugh, and be happy for the character as if it were them.
