Prompt: Why did you choose to read this?
Pages Read: 0-44 (just started reading this book)
There are many reasons why I chose to read this book. At first a lot of people I knew, started reading this book and recommended for me to read it. Then as I went to the library last week, I checked it out, and started reading it. When I first started reading it, I was confused at first. I was mainly confused because their were a lot of vocab words I didn't know. For example in the story it says," His mind functioned without flaw, trying to calculate his surroundings and predicament." Now I really didn't get this sentence in the story, but as I read the page over, and over again I eventually understood. I then knew, that this book wasn't going to be like other stories I read. This book was going to be a little more challenging for me. However, I wanted a challenge.
As I got to read this, I met more characters, but before I mention the other characters I must tell you that, Thomas is the main character. Thomas starts the story, by waking up from a lift cold, dark, and frightening. As the lift reaches it's destination Thomas realizes that he doesn't remember anything, except his own name. When he reaches an unknown place, he meets new people. These are the other characters, which are Alby, Newt, Chuck, and more. In fact these new characters are actually funny in my opinion. Which is also one of the reasons I chose to read this.
I do not know much of the setting at the moment. So let's just say, that I am just as curious as Thomas. But what I do know is that they're in a Glade. This is another reason why I chose to read this book because it keeps you wondering, and asking questions. As i'm starting to know more and more, it's starts to make sense, but right now...well let's just say, I'm getting there. The last reason I chose to read this book, was because they're going to make a film about it! So I don't know about you, but I love reading books and then later watching the film, which is why I chose this book as well.
The Maze Runner sounds like, as you said, a challenge, but I hope to take the challenge of reading this book soon. I like how you said the book kept you wondering, that got me interested in the book and your blog post. I hope to hear more about this book next week :)
