Prompt: Do you like what you’re reading? Why or why not?
So far, I do like what I'm reading. I just started this story a few days ago and I actually really like it even though much hasn't happened yet. This book is actually quite different from other books I've read, usually I just stick to the same or similar authors. But I've never actually read a Nicholas Sparks book before, and now I am which I'm glad. In this book, Nicholas Sparks writes in 3rd person Omniscient, in which you know the thoughts and feelings of characters. For me, I mostly choose to read books in just first person, but I guess I'm willing to be receptive. Plus so far, this new change is actually great, and I've learned to love the author's writing style.
Not only that, but right now I really love the characters in this story. Each character in this story is different, and the main character Ronnie Miller is going through a change in which she doesn't really know who she is right now but I can predict that slowly into the story she'll finally find herself. Ronnie's relationship with her dad, Steve is also really interesting to read. From the context, Ronnie seems to abhor her dad, and now she and her brother are forced to live with their dad for the summer. I think this is foreshadowing something that will reveal something about Steve, the dad. I think this because their dad hasn't really seem them in years, and now all of a sudden he wants them to spend the summer with them. Which I am really excited to read what happens next.
I also really like where this story is going. Even though I haven't read as much to know the conflict and such, I know that slowly this story is building up to a great plot. I am at the point where the author is till introducing more of the setting, in which it takes place in North Carolina, the characters, dialogue, and the mood/atmosphere. This book is getting really enthralling, and I'm really delighted to go out of my comfort zone and read something with a different style that usually I'm not used to.
*P.S I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm planning to after I read the book ^-^*
At first I didn't even know there was a movie but I also kind of want to watch it too. I liked how you included your true opinion and providing reasons why you enjoy this book so much. Have you ever read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks? I also heard it's a great book. The part I like about your blog is that you include separate that explains why you like the characters and the plot. Great Blog Post.
ReplyDeleteEven if I didn't see your name at the top, I would know who is writing this. You have a really strong voice in your writing, which makes it really fun to read :D
