Reflection on Blogging: 2/24/14

Over the past six months my blogging has improved. In the first few months I could tell that I would summarize the book too much. For example, I basically wrote about the whole book and the little details. When I also looked at my previous blog posts I could see that they were very boring. In fact, that's probably why no one would comment on them. Speaking of comments, I could also tell that they were very short and irrelevant. In fact, now that I look at it I was kind of horrible at writing blogs.

Now, I tend to write about the main points of the story and when I choose a prompt that involves summarizing I try not to spoil to much. By looking at other blog posts, I wanted to make my blog more interesting so I started making connections, surveys, and asking questions that would intrigue anyone who's reading. But I think I especially improved on commenting. When we first started blogging I didn't comment at all, and even if I did I wouldn't read the whole blog post. Now I have improved my commenting skills, and have been actually reading the blog posts. Another thing I have improved on is finding rational media that goes with the blog post I have written whether it's things relating to the character or quotes that define the book. In fact, one of my favorite blog posts is the two voice poem because I really worked hard on deciding what to make it about and what lines the two characters would share. After thinking I decided what to make it about and I felt really good about it. I even got great reviews! For 3rd and 4th quarter I would really want to work on my vocabulary to increase more with the daily vocab/prefix words we use every week. During these months I have really improved not only my blogging skills, but my vocab, and aow skills as well and I'm really glad for that!

This was my favorite blog post the two voice poem based off of Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters. "The Fault In Our Stars"
