The Giver: Week of 12/2/13

Prompt:What was going through your mind as you read?
Pages Read: Finished!

A lot of things were going through my mind as I read. At the beginning I was wondering, and curious about a lot of things, and thought, "Hey maybe later or end of the book it will answer my questions." But no, when I read the end it only made me more curious than I already was! When I was reading the last few chapters when Jonas took Gabe, I thought about the community. Like, Will it effect the community? Will they find out? Will they go after them? What's going to happen? A lot of questions were going through my mind, and reading more and more made my curiosity increase.

Another thing that was going through my mind was, What will happen to Jonas and Gabe? When Jonas took Gabe away I was wondering, Where is he going to end up? Will they live? When Jonas said it was really cold, and freezing I thought they would've died. Plus Jonas had hallucinations, and from what I can predict hallucinations can make you see things good or bad and probably make you a little crazy. I'm not going to lie when I was reading the last few chapters it made me really worried for Jonas. The giver wasn't there to help guide him when he ran away with Gabe so it must be really hard for him, considering that he might need a lot of help.

However, the big thing that kept going through my mind was about Elsewhere. I think a lot of people were wondering about Elsewhere as well. The questions that kept going through my mind were, How does Elsewhere look like? What was there? How different is it from Jonas's community? Will Gabe and him live there? It's too bad I do not know the answers to these questions, even if I read the whole book. But I hope to read the other books relating to The Giver.

 What I picture as Elsewhere.

  2. I completely understand all your questions that you have. They are similar to what I've thought each time I've read "The Giver." I do like the picture that you chose to represent Elsewhere. It seems quite peaceful to me.
