Kayla
There are basically three main characters in this book who all are different, but the first main character is a seventeen year old girl with red hair, and blue eyes named Kayla. When she was younger her parents and herself were in the forest, and some hunters accidentally shot her parents, and therefore she became adopted. Ever since that she has been scared of the forest until she joins this program and becomes a sherpa in the forest. Kayla then meets many new people and learns very interesting things that are told to be myths. Not only that but she has this special connection with one of the leaders of the group Lucas, he is only a few years older than her but they have a special bond, however Lucas seems to be different and maybe,she is too. Another guy she meets is named, Mason in the beginning she seems to like him as well, and she felt something more about him, but as she gets to know him for who he truly his, she steps back. Kayla might not think what she thinks she is but as she gets to know more and more of these so-called myths, she takes a closer look.
Lucas
Another main character in this book is the head leader sherpa who is named, Lucas who has dark/brown and some highlights in his hair, has grey/blue eyes and is very protective. When he firsts meet Kayla, he had a special connection with her right away. Although he is very quiet and mysterious, there is something very interesting about him. He is not like most people, he has a bond with the forest. Not to mention that he is a werewolf, and leader of the Dark Guardians. The Dark Guardians are shape-shifters who gather deep within the state park. But their are people trying to capture him which is a problem. Not only that but his evil brother is after him.
Mason
The last main character in this story is Mason who is the son of Dr. Keane has dark brown hair and friendly first. Mason and his father study wolves making Dr. Keane an anthropologist. But basically at first Mason is all friendly, nice, funny, and caring especially to Kayla but later in the story you might not think so. He really likes Kayla but after everything that happens he might not appeal to Kayla anymore. His father and himself are really intelligent, and believe in werewolves, in fact they also think Lucas is a werewolf, and many others. They both have a big plan of capturing these werewolves, and using their DNA to duplicate and sell it to people who are sick, need of medicine, want more strength, abilities, etc. However, in this process they want to harm the wolves and ruin the forest, and only desire money. But when Kayla finds out will she stop him? Or join him?
